If you want a quick read on EV, this is the book for you. As far as I'm concerned, the "practice standard" for EV is EIA-748, with most of the best practices spread among several DoD Web sites. If you want detail on EV, you'll have to go elsewhere, as this pub isn't intended as the definitive work on EV. For that, you'll need the Humphreys book and the general references mentioned above.
