Passed the CAPM Exam! May 06, 2007
By Amrit Jan I found this book the best and time saving companion to the PMBOK Guide for passing the CAPM exam. Well, you have to read the PMBOK Guide, so I did too. But this is the book that made me pass the exam. it made the difference between fail and pass. Looking back, the questions in the book are very realistic and very similar to the actual questions in the exam. The detailed answers to each question helped me to fill some gaps in my understanding. Just the right number of questions that you need to practice for the exam: three practice exams. Very useful bonus: the book contains three more features: Exam Tips, PMBOK Chapter Reviews, and Exam Quick Prep. Read the Exam Tips in the Introduction of the book before reading the PMBOK Guide because these exam tips help develop the right way of going through the material by explaining what kind of questions to expect. Exam Tips also help you to develop a technique to sort the right answer from the multiple choices.
The Quicklet (this book) reviews each chapter of the PMBOK Guide in a very concise and elegant way. After reading each chapter in the PMBOK Guide, I read its review in the Quicklet. Put everything in perspective and the chapter in the PMBOK Guide made much more sense. Each review includes the Big Picture which shows the relationships among the main processes in the chapter in an easy to understand way. This helped to make the material stick for the exam.
I quickly went through the Exam Quick Prep just before the exam. I'm sure it helped to score some extra points.
Already know some project management? Then you just need this book with the PMBOK Guide to a pass the CAPM exam. If you are a beginner, you can add a Study Guide to this mix. That's all, you don't need to spend a fortune.

This is All You Need for CAPM Practice Exams Nov 08, 2007
By Tim Tat I'm a PM trainer, and I have myself taken and passed the CAPM and PMP exams. Based on my experience, I recommend this book highly. It does an excellent job of helping you pass the exam. Lot better than struggling to make some expensive software simulation program work, and then you find out that it was bombed to expire after limited time (annoying). This book explains the answers in a self contained manner; so you can use it with any Study Guide....And it would stay with you for as long as you wish...Very realistic questions.

I solved questions in this book few days before CAPM exam and passed on my first try. Some of the questions were almost same. I strongly recomend to anyone who has interest in CAPM.

Great preparation material Aug 04, 2007
By MAXIMILIAN SIR Excellent book. I only wish that the answers to the exam simulation questions were on the same page, for study purposes, but it's ok. Should be read along Paul Sanghera's other book: PMP In Depth: Project Management Professional Study Guide for PMP and CAPM Exams. Those two make a winning combination for passing the exam. It gives you a complete and clear link to the knowledge areas, and explains all the answers to the exam simulation questions, so you have a better understanding of what the correct answer is, and why. Personally, I think is the best book for CAPM aspiring students.

Look for something better Jan 19, 2011
By Johnny J. Ray First off, this book is designed to be used with the 3rd edition of the PMBoK, not the 4th edition. The book is also full of serious typos that can affect your ability to take some of the tests. For instance, one of the test questions has the same answer choices repeated. The questions and the material covered in the book are not that bad, but this book does not have the polish and material needed for someone to feel at ease taking the CAPM.
I would recommmend another book that will give sample questions along with a more detailed explanation about the flow charts which will give you fits if you rely on this book to help prep for the test.
